Overview

Post-construction cleaning should be coordinated with the contractor's progress and the care requirements of new surfaces. It prepares agreed areas for review or turnover, but it does not replace trade completion, repair, approval, or hazardous-material assessment.

Confirm which areas are ready

Identify completed rooms or zones and any trades that will return. Dust-generating work after cleaning may require another visit. Clarify who removes large debris, manages trade waste, and confirms the site is appropriate for ordinary cleaning.

Protect installed finishes

Provide flooring, glass, counter, cabinet, and fixture care information when available. New coatings may have curing restrictions. Adhesive, paint, or other residue should be identified before an approved removal method is chosen. Do not assume aggressive products or scraping are suitable for every finish.

Define each cleaning phase

Rough cleanup, detailed cleaning, and final touch-up mean little without a task list. Agree on included surfaces and responsibilities for furniture movement, utilities, access equipment, and disposal. An occupied renovation also needs coordination with the people using the building.

  • Mark the rooms released for cleaning.
  • Provide manufacturer and installing-trade care instructions.
  • Identify ordinary debris and any excluded materials.
  • Define included fixtures, glass, surfaces, and floors.
  • Agree on inspection and any follow-up visit.

Keep hazards outside a routine scope

Suspected lead, asbestos, mold, or unknown contamination needs the appropriate assessment and qualified response. Routine construction cleaning should not promise removal of hazardous materials or certify that a building is safe for occupancy.

Use a final walkthrough

Review the completed areas with the project contact and record items by location. Separate cleaning concerns from construction defects so the responsible party can address them. Tell Personal Smart Services the project location, construction stage, and intended handover date to discuss a suitable cleaning scope.
